Hola from Playa!!
This will be our next to last newsletters and the next e mail we will send you will have many more pictures of detail work.
Maya Villa is really starting to take shape. The plaster of most of the exterior walls are done. They have started with the first coat of paint. The color is really nice. It is in the green/dark beige tone.
They have done the arch which took a lot of time since tens of thousands of slivers were hand cut and each piece individually installed.
They are almost finish with the walkway on the sanctuary floor which is a beautiful green slate. This will complement the green jade mosaic pool very nicely. The marble floors on the terraces are almost all completed as well. All the built in beds and sofas are done and the kitchen tumbled marble back splash in most of the units have been completed. The marble in the bathrooms are also being installed.
Next week the Aluminum doors and windows arrive and then the kitchen cabinetry and all woodworking including cabinets and doors will start to be installed in the units.
As they say pictures speak a thousand words so perhaps it's best if we show you what we mean?
You can see the color on the left hand side as on the right hand side it is still at the primer.
Going up the stairs, above the arch, inside the arch they will be putting sculptures statues which will be lit. This will be a very dramatic entrance going up the stairs.
On the other side, a close up to appreciate all the work. On top of the arch they will put in plants that will drape over the arch

Jack the developer went into a small Mayan village near Uxmal which is near Merida to meet with a famous Mayan artist. This artist had exhibits in many famous museums and is an amazing wood and stone carver. Jack placed an order for different art work. Statues that will be displayed throughout the property. There are unique carved Mayan masks that will be for light covers throughout select areas of the project. Here is some previous work from this artist to give you a taste of what is to come.
